Day 7): Do Sections 1.4, 1.5 (Parts F and G are optional reading for previewing
calculus), and 1.6. (We are skimming over domains of composite functions, as
they are set up in 1.6; you do not have to do those parts of the HW. Also, the
word problems in 1.6, Part F are optional reading.

can do the HW through 1.6.
Th (2/27;
Day 8): Do Sections 1.7 (do Parts B and C; skim Part
D; skip Part E), 1.8 (skip Parts I and J), 1.9, and 1.10 (and skim Section
1.11, though 1.11 wonմ be on your test). Can do HW for Ch.1. Bring
questions (+ HW / Answer handouts), the old test, and the online outline of
exam topics for next time.
Think About It: What linear functions are their own inverses?
Think graphically. Think of a pair of dice adding up to 7 and the symmetries
therein.

5.27 to 5.41 and Handout. Handout is given out in class, but here it is: Handout. Memorize the
IDs!! You do not have to memorize the product-to-sum IDs or the sum-to-product
IDs, although you may be called upon to use them. Can do HW #4 up through 5.3.
Tu (4/28;
Day 23): Finish Sections 5.4 / 5.5 (skim 5.53; it comes up in calculus), Do 6.1
and 6.2: Notes 5.42 to 5.52 and 6.01 to 6.17. Can do HW #4 up through 6.2.
The
optional notes on 5.53 are elaborated on in Section 3.4 in Math 150: how trig comes up in
derivatives and limits of difference quotients.
Th (4/30;
Day 24): Do 6.3 and 6.4; skim 6.5 (6.5 is not on your test; there is an
optional handout on this in the Notes for Midterm 4 page): Notes 6.18 to 6.38
[we skimmed 6.5]. Can finish HW #4. Bring questions (+ HW / Answer handouts),

Day 25): Do Sections 7.1-7.3 and Start Section 7.4 through Part C: Notes 7.01

Day 26): MIDTERM 4 (Chs. 5, 6), HW DUE, BRING A

Day 27): Finish 7.4: Notes 7.22 to 7.35, Discuss 7.5, 7.6 (we are not
"doing" them). Start Section 8.1 (up through part of Part D, systems
of two equations): Notes 8.01 to 8.14. In this class, we are doing a preview of
the first three chapters of: Math254.html.
Can do all HW on Ch.7 and some HW on 8.1 (up through #5, though #5 is
optional).
Th (5/14;
Day 28): Finish Section 8.1: Notes 8.15 to 8.25, but Skip 8.22-8.23 and also
Parts H and I (8.26 to 8.33; this is not required material for the Final). Do
Section 8.2: Notes 8.15 to 8.46; we will Skim Part G (8.44-8.46). (We are
skimming Sections 8.3 and 8.5, and they will not be on your Final; the HW for
8.3 and 8.5 is optional.) Section 8.4: Notes 8.57 to 8.65 (8.66 on cross
products is optional). The notes for Linear Algebra (Math 254) will elaborate. Can do HW through 8.2 and 8.4
(8.3/8.5 is optional).

Day 29): Do Sections 9.1/9.6 (Skip nPr) and
9.2 (Skip Part C): Notes 9.01 to 9.13. Most of Section 9.3 (Parts A, B, most of
